Five Easy Pieces

Jack Nicolson’s celebrated 1970 performance as the feckless oil-rig worker Bobby Dupea, whose rootless blue-collar existence belies the fact that he was once a privileged classical pianist from an upper-class family of musicians. When Bobby learns from his pianist sister Partita that their father is dying, he travels back to his family home in Washington, abandoning his equally shiftless girlfriend Rayette en route. Following on from Easy Rider, his film debut, Nicholson prepared for this role with piano lessons from Polish concert pianist Josef Pacholczyk.

There will be live music performed by musicians from Wells Cathedral School at 2.00 pm and the film will begin at 2.30 pm.

This is a Friends of Music at Wells Cathedral School free screening and there will be a collection at the end.
